Eser Uzun Belding, Ph.D. – President

A Corporate Consultant and Executive Counselor, Dr. Eser Uzun Belding has a Post-Doctoral certificate from the Univ. of Virginia , she got her PhD and MA in Organizational Sciences from the Univ. of Michigan (U of M). She has a BA in Psychology from the Univ. of Istanbul; also, she is a graduate of American Academy , and British High Sch. for Girls in Istanbul . Presently, she is serving on the Boards of Women’s Fund of New Jersey, and of Women for Good Government (WAGG). Upon receiving her doctorate, Eser U. Belding stayed at U of M first at the Institute for Social Research (ISR) as a Research Investigator then as Assistant Professor of Management. At U of M, she was also elected to serve as the Doctoral Program Coordinator of Organizational Psychology Program and as the Research Scientist and Internal Consultant to VA Hospital and Medical School Alliance. With her family’s move to the east coast, Dr Belding joined Fordham University as an Associate Professor of Management in 1988 Fall; later she also took on the position of Director of Planning and Special Projects at the Graduate School of Business, where she designed and implemented the award winning Global MBA program. Throughout the years Dr Belding has done extensive consulting both internationally ( Japan , China , Hong Kong , Turkey , Azerbaijan , and Russia ) and locally, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to medium sized corporations across various industries and Government Agencies. Dr Belding has received numerous awards over the years, including the national Valley Forge Honor for Excellence in Teaching in Economics, and have been cited in several volumes if Distinguished Personalities including Who‘s Who in the East, Emerging Leaders in America, and AIB- Distinguished Leadership; she is a Barbour Scholar and Rackham Scholar of U of M. Dr Belding enjoys reading and performing arts; She has Two sons and lives in NJ.

 

Gokhan Gelisen, PE. – President-Elect & Vice President

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Uz Tansel – Past President & Vice President 

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Uz Tansel is a professor of Computer Information Systems at Baruch College, the City University of New York. Professor Tansel received BS, MS and PhD degrees from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara Turkey in 1972, 1974 and 1981, respectively. He also completed his MBA degree in the University of Southern California in 1975. He taught at the Middle East Technical University from 1975 to 1983 before joining Baruch College, the City University of New York in 1983. Professor Tansel headed the editorial board that published the first book on temporal databases in 1993. Dr. Tansel published many articles in the conferences and journals of ACM and IEEE Computer Society. His contributions are widely cited. His research interests are database management systems, data mining, offshore outsourcing of information technology, and assessing the value of information technology. Professor Tansel conducted seminars in Shanghai and in Taipei. Dr. Tansel spent several years at Bilkent University as a visiting professor; his last visit was in academic year 2004-2005.

Bahadır Ekşioğlu P.E., - Secretary General / External Affairs

Mr. Bahadir C. Eksioglu is a practicing professional civil engineer. His practice includes various aspects of geotechnical and foundation engineering. Mr. Eksioglu is a member of several professional organizations including American Society of Civil Engineers, Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers and non-profit organizations including Eksioglu Foundation. Mr. Eksioglu was born in Ikizdere, Turkey in 1968. He completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, Turkey and graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1987. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering in 1991 from Istanbul Technical University. He then moved to USA on a scholarship from the Turkish Government in 1992 and completed his graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994 with Master of Science degree in geotechnical engineering. In 1994, he joined the ranks of Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, a New York based consulting engineering firm, where he has been working since then.

Mustafa Ercilasun, Ph.D. - Assistant Treasurer

Dr. Mustafa Ercilasun currently is working as a marketing/market research consultant. He worked for AT&T between 1992-2004. At AT&T his responsibilities included customer self-service, and planning. His primary objective is to reduce customer care costs while maintaining the superior customer service for AT&T residential customers. He developed and managed Web and speech-based customer care tools. In "speech recognition technology" applications, customers are actually talking to intelligent computers. Computers, using the natural language applications, interpret customers' requests, and provide the appropriate customer care requested. At AT&T, he held various other positions in the areas of market research, marketing, pricing, industry analysis, demand modeling and forecasting. Prior to AT&T, Dr. Ercilasun was an Assistant Professor at University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, and held other faculty positions at St. John Fisher College at Rochester , SUNY-Binghamton, and Salisbury State University . His primary teaching areas were statistics, econometrics, labor economics, money & banking. Dr. Mustafa Ercilasun holds a Ph.D. in Applied Econometrics from the Binghamton University . He was born in Izmir , Turkey . He graduated from Ege University .

Oguz Alpoge  

Mr. Oguz Alpoge received his B.S. & M.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1973, and his MBA in International Business Management from New York University in 1979. He has several certifications in computers, such as Java, XML and .NET Web development and Unicenter. He has spoken at various conferences and seminars. He has authored books and articles in his field. He is a systems integrator and consultant as an architect of e-business web systems. Currently, he is the Vice President of Next Information Systems Inc., New York. Previously, he had served at many financial and manufacturing corporations in Turkey and USA. He is a member of several scientific and business organizations and of Turkish Informatics Foundation, Istanbul.
