SCOTT TAYLOR
A former soldier, Mr. Scott Taylor is the editor and publisher of Esprit de Corps, an Ottawa based magazine celebrated for its unflinching scrutiny of the Canadian Military. As a war correspondent, Taylor reported from the Persian Gulf during 1991 Operation Desert Storm. He has since made 20 trips into Iraq - before and after Saddam's regime was toppled. On his last trip, he was held hostage for five days before being released along with Turkish Journalist from Sabah Newspaper.
Mr. Taylor appears regularly in the Canadian media as a military analyst and is the recipient of the Quill Award for outstanding work in the field of Canadian communications. That same year he won the Alexander Mackenzie Award for journalistic excellence. Taylor is a columnist for the Halifax Herald, Windsor Star, Osprey newspapers and has contributed to the Globe and Mail, Reader's Digest and Media Magazine. He recently published a book titled "Among the "OTHERS" Encounters with the forgotten Turkmen's of Iraq." Some of the on site reporting that appears in his book was produced while on freelance assignments for the Ottawa Citizen, Toronto Sun, Macleans's Aljazeera (English-language news web service), Dnevnik (Macedonian Daily), and Magyar Nemzet (The Hungarian Nation).
