Turkey and the United States have enjoyed five decades of close cooperation that reached to a strategic partnership before the Iraq War in 2003. Turkey has moved away from its traditional pro-American position during this war due to its own security concerns and public outcry. Even if so, these historical allies continued to work together towards their common goals in the other fronts like Afghanistan, Bosnia, the global war on terrorism and in NATO.
This symposium will bring together experts to address the future prospects of the strategic, political, economic and security partnership between the United States and Turkey in the coming years and decades.
The American public, academia, media and students specializing in relevant fields are invited.
Seats are limited. RSVP strongly recommended. You must register for the event by May 10, 2005 and indicate whether you will be joining us at the pre-event brunch with the speakers. No fee required but registration still needed for attending symposium after 2 pm. On-demand Webcast of symposium will be available at www.m-i-m.org
